In an effort to cut down on all the spammers trying to sign up for accounts, I’ve installed a Captcha image puzzle. This should help some as only humans can do the puzzles. I’m also in the process of housecleaning the members list, so if you had an genealogy researchers account and for some reason [...]

Dingwell genealogy: 2 years agoI have traced my Dingwells back to Sibella Dingwell (born 1807) married to William Hubbard in Bay Fortune, PEI. The current theory is that her parents names are Mary Margaret Morrison and William Dingwell (son of John Bates Dingwell and Margaret Boyd). But so far nothing has been found to back this up. I will [...]

Judas genealogy: 2 years ago(originally posted on Ning site September 2009) Cousin Janet was generous and sent me copies of the research notes Stanley had compiled. Unfortunately, Stanley was no further back in the tree than me. I’ve just finished printing out a request for death certificate form for the state of Wisconsin. Fingers crossed that they have a [...]

Did some more searching of the transcribed 1880 records at http://www.familysearch.org. My tree has John Judas, son of Johann Judas, born about 1855 in Prussia. FamilySearch.org lists 2 john Judas in Lincoln county, Dakota Territories born about 1854 Prussia. Hmmmmm….

Judas genealogy: 2 years ago(originally posted on Ning site January 2009) I’ve been trying to find some sign of my Judas ancestors in the Mecan township area in 1880. I’ve found them in 1870, 1895 and 1900. Searched the 1880 transcribed records on http://www.familysearch.org without any luck (even tried variant spellings Judis, Jud*) anywhere in Wisconsin. Today I got [...]
